We have no reports of anyone having skated on Flagstaff in Dunedin, but there is a small firepond at an altitude of 594 m which showed promise for future skateable conditions when inspected on July 13th, 2011. The pond is small, but is well sheletered from the elements and appears to be a definite proposition for skating if the conditions in Dunedin are just right. The ice thickness was around 10 – 15 mm.

Inlet
There is a very small inlet on the other side of the road from the main firepond. Ryan Hellyer reported falling through this when attempting to skate on it on July 13th, 2011. The inlet is very small with barely enough room to skate.
